At Lone Peak High School there is a invisible book of rules that you must obey or face the consequences. Students get caught up in trying to do what others want them to. Not what they want to do. Kids will change how they act just so they can feel "in" or a part of the group. People will do anything to feel like they are apart of something. Even if it mean hurting themselves or others around them. People will make fun of somebody just so they can get a few laughs and make themsleves feel better.
I think that we should get rid of these invisible rules and live and act how we want. And not worry what people think of us.
Creative Writing Rule #1: polish
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a cool idea. The unwritten rules of Lone Peak. But I would've liked the idea to be more polished. Maybe a list (top 10 rules) or a pamphlet or brochure or something. Not just a paragraph.
I really think people would relate to something like this, but you'd have to spend more time on it and present it in a way that people can connect to.
Some unwritten rule ideas:
eye contact in the hallways
discussion in the boy's bathroom
high fives
who gets to hang out by the knight
commons vs. lunch room
driving to lunch
how long you can loiter after school
dances
football games, basketball games (chants, attire)
being tardy to class (all the cool kids do it)
reading in the hallway
eating alone
Man. This list could go on and on and on....you've got some work to do.
